Chisa Oros (Yoeme/Zuni) grew up in Northwestern California and graduated from Humboldt State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Ethnic Studies and a Master’s Degree in Social Science. Chisa’s Master’s Degree research was an interdisciplinary critical analysis of the role of militarism within the Humboldt Bay region during the California Gold Rush, and the implications of settler colonialism on Indigenous female bodies, the balance of the natural world, and spiritual consciousness.
